DBM: P69M National livestock program fund ng DA ilalabas na

Ilalabas na ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang mahigit na P69 milyon na budget para sa National Livestock Program ng Department of Agriculture (DA).

Ito ay matapos aprubahan ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang pagpapalabas ng nasabing pondo.

Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, inaprubahan ang pagpapalabas ng P69,699,000 para sa  Protein-Enriched Copra Meal (PECM) Commercialization Project sa ilalim ng National Livestock Program.

Ayon sa DBM, ang special allotment release orders (SAROs) ay  inaprubahan  ni Pangandaman noong Nobyembre 17.

Ang nasabing SARO ay naglalayong dagdagan o suportahan ang Production Support Services (PSS) ng National Livestock Program.

“In line with President Ferdinand Marcos. Jr.’s instruction to put prime importance on agriculture, we will do our best to provide support and implement vital measures to boost the country’s agricultural output. The release of the fund will surely help our kababayans, especially those who rely on livestock farming as their livelihood,” ayon kay Pangandaman.

Ang National Livestock Program ng DA sa pamamagitan ng PECM Commercialization Project ay naglalayong gawing commercialized ang paggamit ng protein-enriched copra meal bilang locally available feed ingredient na maaaring ipalit sa imported soybean para sa kapakinabangan ng mga nag-aalaga ng mga baboy at manok.

“[The project] shall focus to jumpstart and expedite the commercialization of PECM as an urgent measure to cushion the impact of soaring feed raw material prices which had been contributing to the increase in pork and chicken consumers,” ayon sa DA.

“Ultimately, supporting the program translates to helping our consumers. Ito naman po ang hangarin ng Marcos admin – ang tulungan ang agriculture sector sa kanilang produksyon para ma-maintain ang presyo ng mga agricultural products at affordable levels,” ayon pa kay Pangandaman.
