FDA, IGINIIT NA KAILANGAN PA RIN NG CLEARANCE KUNG MAGDO-DONATE NG COVID-19 VACCINE

Kahit pa nanindigan ang Malakanyang na donasyon lang ang covid-19 vaccine na itinurok sa mga miyembro ng Presidential Security Group (PSG), iginiit ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) na kailangan pa rin ng clearance mula sa kanila bago ito payagang makapasok sa bansa.

Sa isang press conference, sinabi ni FDA director general Eric Domingo na hindi dumaan sa proseso ng clearance ang pagbakuna sa mga miyembro ng militar gamit ang bakuna na hindi pa aprubado.

“The Department of Health [DOH] kasi does accept donations, like for food and drugs. But, usually if they are foreign donations, they go through the Bureau of Internal Health Cooperation,” wika ni Domingo.

“Then, the BIHC of the DOH coordinates with the FDA to get the necessary clearances for them to be able to brought it to the country. In this case, I do not think there was any process that was done,” dagdag pa niya,

Ayon naman kay Health Secretary Duque, ang ganitong uri ng donasyon ay kadalasang nire-request.

“Usually, meron ‘yang mga request by the requiring party or the party that needs it. Halimbawa, special group patients,” wika ni Duque, na sinabing dapat itong dumaan sa tamang proseso.

Sinabi ni presidential spokesperson Harry Roque at Interior Secretary Eduardo Año na donasyon lang ang bakunang ibinigay sa PSG ngunit hindi nila alam kung sino ang nagbigay. (FC/MTVN)
